Canadian workers deserve strong paychecks and safe jobs. Common Sense Conservatives propose a bold plan: a 100% tariff on made-in-China EVs, a 50% tariff on semiconductors and solar cells, and a 25% tariff on steel, aluminum, and other key materials. We’ll also end rebates for made-in-China EVs, repeal C-69 to boost mining and energy, and introduce a Bring It Home Tax Cut to lower taxes on work and investment, prioritizing Canadian production and job security.
Canadians face severe challenges, with unemployment at 6.4% and 1.4 million out of work. Job growth isn’t keeping up with population growth, and fewer job vacancies make it hard for young people to find work. Canadians deserve a better path forward. It's time for Common Sense Conservatives to restore opportunity, boost job prospects, and ensure stronger paychecks, creating a more promising future for everyone.
The RCMP recently arrested two suspects in Toronto allegedly plotting an ISIS-related terrorist attack. Concerns have emerged that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has not prioritized national security, undermining public confidence. Under Trudeau, an individual with alleged ISIS ties was granted Canadian citizenship. A Common Sense Conservative government will focus on securing our borders and preventing dangerous individuals from entering Canada.
Taxation affects various sectors and daily life. Higher taxes on farmers often lead to increased food prices, while taxing doctors can make healthcare more expensive and less accessible. Elevated taxes on homebuilders may reduce housing supply and raise prices, and small businesses may struggle, leading to fewer job opportunities. Though taxes fund public services, a balanced tax system is crucial to avoid harming consumers and hindering economic growth while still ensuring adequate revenue.
Keep Violent Criminals Behind Bars Liberals’ soft-on-crime policies have led to a surge in violent crime across our communities, with catch-and-release practices and the elimination of mandatory jail time for violent gun crimes failing to protect those most at risk. Conservatives are committed to enforcing stricter measures, ensuring that criminals face jail time rather than bail, and restoring safety to our streets. We, the undersigned, urge the Liberal government to prioritize the rights of victims over offenders by ensuring that violent criminals are kept behind bars where they belong.
Ban Hard Drugs & Support Recovery The Liberal-NDP coalition has moved to legalize crack, heroin, meth, and other hard drugs. It has funded programs that contribute to the proliferation of these dangerous substances on our streets. This approach has exacerbated addiction rates and facilitated access to even more lethal drugs, such as fentanyl. As a result, drug overdoses and drug-fueled crime have surged in our cities, driven by these misguided policies. We support the Common Sense Conservative plan to ban hard drugs, end the distribution of prescription opioids, and invest in treatment and recovery programs to help individuals overcome addiction and reclaim their lives.
The Liberals Have Turned Their Backs on Seniors Seniors who have devoted their lives to hard work and contributing to our society are now facing a crisis as they struggle to afford basic necessities, including housing. The current Liberal policies have failed to address the rising cost of living and have not provided adequate support for our elderly citizens, leaving many in financial distress. The Conservative Party proposes a robust plan to rectify this. We will implement targeted financial support programs, enhance pension benefits, and invest in affordable senior housing to ensure that those who spent their lives building our country can retire with dignity and security.
Radical experiment of decriminalizing hard drugs has failed. Since Trudeau formed government, over 42,000 Canadians have died from drug overdoses. Nanaimo, for example, has seen a nearly 400 percent increase in drug overdose deaths in the last four years alone, yet Trudeau decided to allow opioids, cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine to be used in public places like hospitals and parks anyway. Common Sense Conservatives will not allow this devastating experiment to play out in other Canadian communities.
